Shale gas as a new challenge for Europe: re-thinking the role of expertise in European integration processes (SH Expertise) was funded by the National Science Centre under the project number 2013/11/D/HS6/04715 and led by Prof. UAM Aleksandra Lis-Plesińska at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
The project studies the relation between expert knowledge and regulations of hydraulic fracturing in the European Union. It aimed to analyze and conceptually re-think social construction of expert knowledge and its role in regulation processes in the European Union. It also analyzed and theorized co-production of expertise and the European Union as a multilevel governance structure. Finally, the project examined relations between lay and scientific expertise in regulation processes.
