Professor Mariusz Lamentowicz is a specialist in climate and human impacts on peatlands and Head of the Climate Change Ecology Research Unit at the Faculty of Geography and Geology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. His main scientific interests are wetland ecology and palaeoecology, especially the functional diversity of peatland microorganisms. His research focuses on monitoring and experimentation to better understand current and future changes in peatland ecosystems. He aims to investigate past and present anthropogenic disturbances and develop strategies for peatland conservation. He is also involved in photographic activities focusing on nature, particularly wetlands.
