Joanna Sucholas, PhD, is an ethnobiologist, herbalist, farmer and educator. Her research interest focuses on traditional ecological knowledge, biodiversity conservation in biocultural landscapes, and sustainability of medicinal plant use. She graduated in biology at UAM in Poznań. Afterwards she completed doctoral studies at University of Regensburg with a thesis on wetland conservation in the Biebrza National Park, influenced by Common Agricultural Policy. She leads workshops, lectures, and nature walks on ethnobotany, biodiversity, and cultural traditions across Poland. Living in a village in Greater Poland, she develops a small farm guided by agroecological ideas and values.
